You can then filter the results by location, procedures offered at the clinic, and other services the clinic offers. If you are looking to have more than one procedure performed, you can search for clinics that offer both and save yourself an extra office visit.
If you are traveling a long distance for treatment, you might want to make sure the clinic has amenities like free Wifi or a car service from the hotel or airport. We list the price for an MRI up-front, alongside the accreditations the clinic has earned and their rating from other patients. The clinic's profile has more information about the clinic including languages spoken at the clinic (and whether or not interpreter services are available), profiles of the staff members, and complete reviews from other patients. From here you can send the clinic an inquiry using our secure messaging service and their response will go right to your email inbox. You can also see where the clinic is located and learn more about MRI's or other procedures. MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scan is used to create detailed images of internal organs and tissue. The process involves the use of magnets and radio waves to create high resolution and detailed images of an organ or tissue, in order to help making a diagnosis or devising a treatment plan. An MRI scan can be performed on the brain, chest, abdomen, heart or spine and is a painless process.
Some scans may require a contrast material to be injected into the blood, in order to help create as much detail as possible. Similar scans include CT (computerized tomography) scan and PET (positron emission tomography) scans. However, an MRI scan is most commonly performed to diagnose brain and spinal cord injuries or conditions, as it can detect a brain aneurysm, tumors and the effects of a stroke.
Recommended for Patients who have sustained a brain or spinal injury Patients with tumors Patients who have vascular disease, congenital heart condition, or cardiomyopathy Cancer patients Time requirements Number of days in hospital 1 . Patients can usually leave directly after the MRI scan is complete. Average length of stay abroad 1 - 5 days. It may take a few days for the results of the scan to be processed and patients will usually attend a follow up consultation to discuss the results. Number of trips abroad needed 1.
It is advisable to avoid drinking cold water or exercising immediately before the test as this can affect the results.
Before the test begins, the patient will be asked to change into a hospital gown. In some cases, the patient may need to have some hair shaved to allow the patches to correctly attach.
Once the preparation is complete, the patient is then asked to lie on a table and the electrodes which are attached to sticky patches, are attached to the patient's skin using a gel.
Normally, between 12 to 15 electrodes are attached to the patient's arms, legs, and chest. In order to detect a irregular heartbeat, the doctor may conduct other tests in conjunction with the ECG such as a stress test. During a stress test, the patient will be asked to exercise while the doctor monitors the heart's response.
